Nature of EcoSoya

Are your beans organic or Non-GMO?

We would like to use soybeans that are strictly organic or non-GMO but due to supply issues we can't guarantee it. We do guarantee that our waxes themselves do not contain any pesticides, herbicides, or genetically modified material. During manufacturing, the waxes are cleaned of any of these items if present, resulting in a very clean and green product.

Can I use EcoSoya® soy waxes to make soap?

Yes, our waxes are used to produce many soaps. Visit our Specifications Page for the appropriate saponification number.

How are EcoSoya® soy waxes made?

Visit About EcoSoya to learn more.

Is EcoSoya® Kosher certified?

Yes, EcoSoya® received Kosher certification in February, 2009.

Is your wax Organic?

A designation of Organic is not possible with any soy wax or any wax made from a liquid vegetable oil that is turned into a solid. In order to go from liquid soybean oil to a solid wax, the oil must undergo a chemical change. Due to this chemical change the wax cannot meet an Organic Certification.

What is the shelf life of EcoSoya® and candles produced using EcoSoya soy wax?

To date, we have not experienced, nor have our customers reported a shelf life for candles made with EcoSoya®. We have candles made in June of 1999 that are still usable. EcoSoya® has no determined shelf life. It should be stored in a cool, dry location away from direct heat, sunlight and moisture. Temporary hot or cold temperature extremes have no adverse effect. EcoSoya® waxes may be used frozen and if partially melted, allow it to cool and re-solidify before use.
